Our mission is maintaining and strengthening the economic health, livability, and vibrancy of downtown Bellingham by creating an inviting, diverse environment that attracts new businesses, organizations, residents, and visitors.
Our primary strategy we call "Playable Bellingham." The goal is to create a unique, diverse downtown that fosters innovation, interaction and creativity. A people-centric city center that invites all to discover, explore. and experience. The objective isn't simply to create a more vibrant downtown. It's to reimagine Bellingham as a unique, exciting, sought-after destination.

The goal is to create a unique destination unlike any other. To this end, we will work to create innovative experiences that engage the community and visitors on multiple levels. We hope to work alongside local businesses, government, organizations, artists, residents, and other interested stakeholders. .
People-Centric
The Downtown Bellingham Business Community believes that we have lost sight of how advantageous a people-centric, pedestrian-friendly city can be. Bellingham currently has almost no people friendly, inviting, open spaces. Imagine open, accessible, car-free spaces where local businesses thrive, vendor kiosks offer a variety of goods, art is celebrated, and every street corner invites exploration. Join us in our mission to enhance the vibrancy of our city, making it a people-centric destination designed for everyone. We are working to possibly close sections of downtown streets to create unique, pedestrian friendly spaces.
Founding Members
We are a brand new organization, and are looking for a limited number of Founding Members. Founding members get all the benefits of an Advisory Member, but the the Founding Members do not pay any further annual membership fees. We are suggesting a $500 donation and are looking for 10 founding members.
